Welcome to South Carolina Babe Ruth
Baseball & Softball
Babe Ruth League, Inc. is an international youth sports organization established in 1951, and incorporated in 1952. Children ages 4-18 participate every year in our main programs. The Bahamas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, U.S. VIrgin Islands, and Virginia compose the Southeast Region, one of eight (8) Babe Ruth Regions covering the United States and Canada. Each region fields teams in Babe Ruth’s eight (8) Divisions in Baseball and Softball. Baseball Divisions include Cal Ripken (ages 4-12), Babe Ruth 13-15 Year-olds, and Babe Ruth 16-18 Year-olds. Softball Divisions include 12 & Under, 16 & Under, and 18 & Under. In addition, we have a special Bambino Buddy-Ball Division designed for children 5-20 years old who have physical and (or) mental disabilities. We also have a competitive Xtreme Softball Division for children ages 8-18.
Leagues that charter with Babe Ruth League and conduct a spring season of local league and interleague games are eligible to participate in the annual tournament competition that follows. Each chartered league can select a tournament team of players from specific age groups, who can earn their way to a World Series tournament by participating in their local District, State, and Regional tournaments, where they have to become the Champion to advance to the next level. The Babe Ruth tournament trail for baseball features World Series for the Cal Ripken 10-Year-olds, 12-Year-olds 60', and 12-Year-olds 70', and for the Babe Ruth 13-Year-olds , 14-Year-olds, 13-15 Year-olds, and 16-18 Year-olds. In softball, the tournament trail leads to a World Series for the 12 & Under and 16 & Under age groups. Xtreme Softball has National Championships.
